Roy and Eve
Paintbrush in my hand,
canvas on its stand,
my guide to the promised land is my Eve,
my Marianne.
I send my scribbled cards,
send my best regards.
There’s only two parts
in this play of our lonely hearts.
Every time you write to me
I see your beauty in my fantasies.
She’s my Kiss,
my Mona Lisa,
my Madame X,
my own Olympia,
my sweet Enigma.
I’m locked away dreaming of a Goddess not a human being,
my Athena.
I feast on every line,
the words of the divine.
I look for any sign
that I can live outside my mind.
Every time you write to me
I see your beauty with such clarity.
She’s my Kiss,
my Mona Lisa,
my Madame X,
my own Olympia,
my sweet Enigma.
I’m locked away dreaming of a Goddess not a human being,
my Athena.
